If you’ve been searching for a flat for sale in Uttara Sector 6, you’ve probably noticed that most listings use the same five adjectives and tell you very little. This post covers Nur Al GLG — a residential project by GLG Assets Ltd. on Road 16, Sector 6 — with the actual specs, what the layout looks like day-to-day, and who the apartment is genuinely suited for.

Every unit at Nur Al GLG has:
The 2,098 sft footprint means none of these rooms feel squeezed. Three washrooms for a 3-bedroom flat is the right ratio for a family — no morning queues. The two separate living areas — a formal sitting room and a family lounge — is a layout detail that sounds minor until you actually live with it.
Two balconies are also worth noting. A single balcony is mostly symbolic in most Dhaka apartment designs. Two means you actually use them — one off the main living area, one off a bedroom. The north-facing orientation keeps the main living spaces from overheating through the afternoon.
Ground floor: Reception desk, guard post, electro-mechanical room, guard and caretaker accommodation.
Within the premises: Children’s play area, community space, plantation area.
Rooftop: Machine room, cloth-drying area.
The children’s play area and community space are things residents value more at the six-month mark than during an initial visit. They’re included here as standard, not as an upsell.
Sector 6 sits in the middle of Uttara’s established residential belt. Rajuk Uttara Model College is in Sector 6. Uttara University is in Sector 6. The sector has its own park and a welfare society office — signs of an organized, functioning residential community rather than a zone that just looks planned on a map.
Day-to-day walkability is real here. Schools, pharmacies, markets, and banks are within short distances without needing to fight Dhaka’s main arteries for every errand.
The broader Uttara advantages apply too. Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport is about 20–25 minutes by road — relevant for professionals who travel frequently. The MRT line now connects Uttara to central Dhaka faster than any of the road-based options, and property values in the area have moved upward with it. For buyers thinking about resale or rental yield down the road, Sector 6 is a stable part of that equation.
Nine apartments across eight living floors means one apartment per floor (with one floor having two units or one floor used differently). This is less common than it should be in Dhaka.
In practical terms: no shared-wall neighbors on your landing, a quieter lift lobby, and a building that stays calmer than a 4-unit-per-floor block. The type of resident this attracts tends to be different, too — families who want space and privacy over a building with a lot of foot traffic.
The 2,098 sft, 3-bedroom, 3-washroom layout is sized for a family. It’s not a starter flat for a couple, and it’s not a compact investment unit.
It also works as a rental investment targeting the Uttara professional and expat segment — airline crew housing, corporate rentals, senior professionals — which has steady demand and can support rents that make the asset value work.
If the lowest possible price per square foot in Uttara is the priority, this isn’t the starting point. GLG Assets prices its projects to reflect real construction quality. That’s a trade-off worth understanding before comparing it against cheaper options.
One of the reasons Sector 6 works well for families is that the essentials are genuinely close — not “10 minutes by car if there’s no traffic” close, but walkable or a short rickshaw ride close.
Milestone School & College – Sector 6 is directly in the sector on Road 3. It’s one of the more recognized institutions in Uttara, known for board exam results. Holy Child School & College is also in Sector 6 on Road 8, running both school and college wings under one roof.
For younger children, Horizon International School on Road 1 is an English-medium option with strong reviews from parents in the area.
BRAC Healthcare Uttara on Road 12 is the most consistently well-reviewed clinic in the immediate area — clean, organized, short wait times, and open until 10 PM daily. For 24-hour coverage, Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital is on Isakha Avenue in Sector 6 itself.
It’s a government facility, which means affordable specialist consultations (reportedly as low as Tk 10), kidney dialysis, and free medicine — useful to have nearby even if it’s not your first option for private care. Square Hospital’s Uttara branch and Uttara Crescent Hospital are also within a short distance of diagnostics and specialist chambers.
Baitun Nur Jame Masjid is the main mosque in Sector 6, on Road 9. It’s large, has separate facilities for women, and is attached to a park — a place residents actually use rather than just pass by. Uttara Central Mosque and Eidgah, and the well-known Sector 7 Jame Mosque (with capacity for over 9,000 people and full air conditioning) are all nearby.
Mascot Plaza and North Tower are the two major shopping destinations at the Sector 6/7 border on Sonargaon Janapath Road — between them, they cover clothing, electronics, daily essentials, food courts, and offices. Zam Zam Tower is another large commercial complex, a short distance away.
For grocery and supermarket needs, Agora and Shwapno outlets serve the Uttara area. Uttara Square Shopping Mall on the western end of the sector adds more options.
IFIC Bank has a branch directly on Road 16 — the same road as the project. Agrani Bank, NCC Bank, and Dutch-Bangla Bank ATMs are all within the sector.
